CHUCK OFFENBURGER

If you are an Iowan, this Iowa Boy needs no introduction.

Upon Chuck Offenburger’s departure as Iowa columnist for The Des Moines Register, the following column about him appeared in the Chicago Tribune:

Offenburger recently joined the Iowa Writers’ Collaborative as a regular columnist: Iowa Boy.

He has taught at Buena Vista College and continues column-writing through his blog: Offenburger.com

He has talked about media, writing, interviewing with audiences, college and high school classes across the state. I’ve worked directly with several young writers/reporters who “interned” with him. And he’s taught journalism, writing, and Iowa public affairs at Buena Vista U, Loras College, Coe College, and as a visitor at Iowa State U, University of Iowa, University of Iowa, and Drake University. He was awarded a Doctorate in Journalism from the University of Okoboji’s Dean, Herman Richter.

Offenburger has written many columns and features on his website www.Offenburger.com, and maybe a dozen other freelance pieces for various newspapers, magazines, and organizations.
