    Becky Smith has taught film directing, screenwriting and production at the college level for over 30 years, in the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, as well as participating in numerous workshops on screenwriting in the U.S. and internationally. She has directed television pilots, series and stand-alone programs for NBC, CBS, FRONTLINE, Bravo, Disney Network, Discovery, HISTORY Channel, and other networks, and was nominated for a directing Emmy for “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,” which also won a series Emmy.

    She is a feature film writer/director as well as a television director, and her coming-of-age comedy “16 to Life” is widely distributed by Warner Brothers Digital and on numerous other platforms. She directed the documentary “In The Game” which premiered on FRONTLINE to outstanding national reviews and won Women In Film and Television’s “Best Documentary of the Year” award when it was broadcast, as well as a Director’s Guild “top ten documentaries” of the year award.

    She is a graduate of the Stanford film school, the American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women, and AFI’s Movie of the Week Workshop. She’s also a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, and Women in Film and has mentored hundreds of screenwriters and directors.
