Lyle Muller is a retired newspaper and nonprofit news editor and reporter who occasionally writes columns about things that concern him, notably when people in power affect people who are not in power, but also trends that should make people think, regardless of whether they do or do not actually do that thinking.
Lyle’s career includes being editor of the Cedar Rapids Gazette, head of the former non-profit Iowa Center for Public Affairs Journalism, being a Council for the Advancement of Science Writing national fellow, teaching and serving as a reporting coach at the University of Iowa and independent The Daily Iowan, and currently as professional adviser at Grinnell College’s Scarlet & Black newspaper.
